Nature Is Calling! ... Are You Answering?

I have been processing the sudden passing of a dearly beloved.🌈🐾
But in that time there has been a lot of healing. Every day since he transitioned into spirit we have honored his life by living as he did: without limits, without fear, and without regret.
One way that we do this is by discovering new places to explore each day, as he loved to do, even when his body was failing.
Nature has become an incredible source of joy, healing, and inspiration!

Will you answer the call to explore and enjoy nature with your animal companion??
“The mountains are calling and I must go.” ― John Muir
The video below highlights just one area of one of the most diverse habitats on our planet: the San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. It's one of the largest remaining coastal wetlands in San Diego County, California. Within its 915 acres there are 6 plant communities; coastal strand, salt marsh, riparian scrub, coastal sage scrub, freshwater marsh, and mixed chaparral. There are more than 300 species of plants, at least 23 species of fish, 26 mammal species, 20 reptiles and amphibians, more than 80 invertebrates, and 300 bird species; many of whom are endangered.

Yesterday, in honor of Earth Day, we spent the day restoring areas of this habitat by breaking down old fences, planting native species, and removing toxic/invasive species to ensure a healthy, diverse habitat.
Then today, we came back to play❣
What is incredible about this place, is not only the amazing mountains, lagoons, hiking trails, and the flora & fauna, but also the respect the public offers to this land. I've never once seen a piece of trash on the ground, or dog poop left behind! The people that come here truly Leave No Trace! So when we visit, we are grateful for the gift of nature that's been preserved and honored for all to enjoy. We are also grateful for Nature's gift of healing and inspiration. I hope you enjoy!
