Cat Language
Domestic cats have advanced far beyond their wild ancestors in the capacity to develop new forms of social organization and communication. They use their bodies and facial expressions to communicate their intentions to all around them. The subtle behaviors of cats are often (and quite easily) misinterpreted.
This video from Cats Protection shows you some common cat body postures and feline facial expressions. Knowing how to recognize and understand what cats are communicating with their body language is essential to a successful training session, and to maintain a healthy relationship with your feline family member! By studying the various signals that make up the cat’s language, you will find that you will better understand the messages your cat is trying to convey. A basic understanding of this language will aid in deepening the bonds of friendship with your feline companion.
