Q. How does the process work? What happens first?
A. After you contact me, I will personally call you so we can discuss your family's needs. If we both decide that my services are a good fit for your family I will send you my Client Questionnaire. After I receive your completed questionnaire, I will let you know that I received it via email. Then I will review your family's history with each pet, and the pet's individual history. I will also review any medical issues that your pet could be having. After I feel that no other information is required to proceed, we can then schedule our initial consultation.
Q. What does an Initial consultation include?
A. This consult is required for all new clients. It lasts from 1.5 - 2 hours, depending on the type of consultation. It will take place in your home. Being in your home allows me to observe your home environment and see how your animal companions interact with everyone in their home environment. This allows me to better understand and absorb what is really happening within the home. I can then better provide each of your family members (humans and pets) with the proper tools and techniques. I strongly encourage all family members and pets to be present for this important, initial consult. My goal will be to listen to everyone's needs and concerns, and learn what each of you are wanting to change or improve.
Q. What does a Follow-up consultation include?
A. After our initial consultation, and after reviewing your situation in great detail, I will address the current problem(s), identify any possible future problems. Then I will create a customized behavioral treatment plan for each person and pet in the home. This animal management treatment plan will include force-free behavior modification techniques, science-based environmental management, and holistic recommendations for the client. All of these tools and techniques will assist your family to safely and swiftly address the current issues, while preventing further behavioral issues in the foreseeable future. A follow-up consultation can last from and hour to an hour and a half, depending on your personal circumstances. There can be one, or multiple follow-up consultations, depending on your highly individualized situation. These can be scheduled the same week, a week later, and up to 3 months later, depending on your situation/personalized behavioral management plan.
Q: How much are your services?
A: It depends. Many of my services revolve around what your family needs. I offer hourly services AND packages. You can learn more about each of them here.
Q: When do I pay you for hourly services?
A: Hourly payments are required 48 hours before each visit takes place.
Q: For the package deals, do I pay up front, or do I pay after I see results?
A: Packages payments are paid in full up front, 48 hours prior to the consultation begins.
Q: How do I pay you?
A: You will receive an electronic invoice via email. The invoice will provide a link for payment via your debit or credit card.
Q: Do you have a portable card swipe machine?
A: Not at this time, but this is something that we are considering.
Q. Do you train just one person, the animal, or the entire family?
A. The goal of each of my programs is to teach you and your family the skills and awareness to train and care for your animal companion for life. This will be a cooperative experience for everyone. Please click here to learn more.
Q: What if I’m not satisfied with the results? Will I be reimbursed?
A: As with any service (house cleaning, massage, chiropractic, etc.), results can vary. I will be giving 100% of my energy and effort to ensuring that your family's behavioral management program is successful and long-lasting. That being said, you should understand that the results you will see will come largely from your family’s commitment to your personalized program. Results will be directly related to the entire family’s effort while I am there with you, and most importantly, when you train and manage your animal companions without me present. The monetary payment you invest will go toward the hours I spend developing a customized program, and then help you carry out this program in full. This often includes the resources and equipment needed to create conditions for you and your animal companion to be successful. Payments are agreed upon when signing a contract for service, and are not reimbursable. There are no guarantees when it comes to behavior and living beings (humans and animals).
Q: Do you work on holidays?
A: As a rule, no. If you have an exceptional circumstance, or a safety concern that would require a visit during a holiday, we can discuss that.
Q: I noticed you don't have Sundays listed on your dates and times. Is this set in stone?
A: Sundays are set aside solely for our Make A Wish Families. My husband and I are Make a Wish Granters and M.A.W. Ambassadors. This volunteer program takes up a good deal of our Sunday schedule. But, if we are not working with one of our many Make a Wish families, I will do my best to accommodate your family's request.
